For awhile we’ve been seeing the strangest things pop up on google maps, even individual stalls in hawker centers, so Liangze and I decided to try registering my house on Google Maps – it’s a flat hidden away in the maze of HDBs in Yishun and most of my friends have problems finding it (liangze’s friends don’t though – I’m not sure what the difference is) – I guess it’s more natural to offer to pick a girl up from the train station to walk her to my house than to walk a guy back to my place.
It’s actually really easy, fuss-free, and you don’t even need to pay.
1) You need a google account
2) Where you want your ‘business’ to be on the map should correspond to the geographical location of an actual postal address.
Visit this page to add a listing for your local business.
You sign in with your google account, fill in all the relevant details like, genre of your business, opening hours, contact number, mailing address.
Google will verify your business listing by sending you a (physical) postcard with a PIN in it. If that address corresponds to your business, you will receive the postcard. You log in to key in the PIN, et voila.
To get the name and the little cafe logo on the building, I think you need at least one review.
Q: How do y’all like the new template? If you scroll down continuously you’ll see the helium balloons float up!
