the best writers inspire others to write.
so here’s my response to this
perhaps one day, in the not-so-near future, you will find that the God you have rejected and shunned is the ‘philosophy’ that you look for.
you will see that ‘cogent’ is a needless qualifier – God is a cogent God. the life lived in light (not in spite) of Him is a cogent life.
you will find it cogent precisely because it is every bit as self-centred as it is others-centred
(contrary to popular belief)
you will find that the God fearing life loses its mindlessness to a desire to please one’s Creator, and subsidiary to that, a desire to please oneself when one’s will is aligned to the Creator’s.
it will please you to please others, it will please you to please God.
you will forgive the hypocrites who pledge their deific allegiance but find no real pleasure in their work, their life, or their pursuit of God.
you will find that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is not just the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob,
but the God of you.
of you, of you, of you.
The God of imagination,
the God of love,
the God of everything that is good, nay, best for you,
the God of purpose.
the God with whom you need not be constrained in your most primitive longings and inclinations,
for He made you! You were knit together by God in our mother’s womb –
Surely your Creator knows the stock of which you were made,
knows your deepest desires, gave you your deepest desires.
and perhaps one day, in the not-so-far future
you will come to recognise that your deepest desire is to please Him.
It was not always like this.
