it seems to be characteristic of many singaporeans to say “you won’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.” ESPECIALLY FOR PARENTS. who are trying to trick their kids into appreciating them with death anxiety.
why don’t they try harder to make themselves more appreciable in this lifetime? isn’t it not a little depressing to know that the only thing that will impute some worth onto you is your death?
if i hear that one more time i think i might explode from the senselessness of it all.
