Frustration

I hate not having time to read! (again! should just drop more courses)
There are certain books on my shelf that are literally getting 2 semesters old… bought them when i was in the smitten depths of my love affair with amazon. now i have a self-imposed policy where i don’t buy anything new unless i’ve finished the old books, and let me tell you that while it is wise, it is PAINFUL.

wonder if i shld not go anywhere during spring break and just stay in and finish my entire backlog. the dvds are easy because they only take about 2 hrs apiece but the books! oh glorious books. what a beguiling temptress you are.

here’s the reading section of my winterbreak inventory before i left.
BOOKS
– L’Engle: A swiftly tilting planet
– L’Engle: A wind in the door
– Phillips: The Egyptologist
– Copland: What to listen for in music
– Holt: Tall stories
– Allende: House of the spirits

and here it is when i was coming back.

obviously the luggage was overweight. it was 6 kg overweight to be precise. airlines should totally have a special bookworm discount on overweight luggage fees for insensible people like me who cart mobile libraries wherever they go.

  1. i’m helping you with one of them :)

and yes i think next time i’ll get a separate seat for my books… haha! and considering how old so many of them are, they should get a senior citizen discount too!

  2. helping? HELPING??? dude if i wasn’t carrying a book you lent me there i was carrying books i bought for you back which you realise are not even on the list bah. and i still haven’t had time to read the lewis. and soon it’ll be mcm, and then prelims, and then spring break, and then the end of semester…….. !!! i feel terrible especially since some of those books were christmas presents >< (that i demanded for hahaha). like the alain de botton i lent you but at least i've read that at least three times already.

  3. oh and today i got back 2 of the french films i lent to desmond (a* dude one yr yr senior) movie night soon! i think. haha. looks like i really need to cut back on something too sigh.

  4. haha just because Net Help 0 :P)

ah! you make the semester sound so fast! we need to ritardando… trouble is, times when we feel time isn’t passing (like this afternoon :) ) are the times when it’s actually passing fastest…

spring break, where break is truly a break instead of a foreign frenzy disguised as a break, actually sounds pretty appealing now… time time time time! wouldn’t it be lovely if, instead of a wardrobe leading to narnia, we had a book closet leading to a collection of all the books we love?

oh and did i mention that desmond was my ogl in rj? hahaha! and zhengkang’s too! so that’s 3 of us from the same og here! how cool is that!
