I have a new bedfellow. Okay, not that there was an old bedfellow, just that this one is new.
He’s really colourful, and lots of fun. Wriggly and oh-so-adorable! He’s also an advance 21st birthday present from clara because I saw him in Heffers and wanted him (not a cashier this time).
He is none other than…
The Very Hungry Caterpillar!
This dude was my childhood friend. everytime my parents brought me to ang mo kio library to read i’d go straight to the children’s section and pick him out and watch him chomp through one apple, two pears, three plums, four strawberries, five oranges, one chocolate cake, one ice-cream cone, one pickle, one slice of swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon.
He was my hero.
Saw(=bought) the book at scriveners in buxton so was SO psyched when i saw the stuffed toy in heffers in cambridge. there was a life sized £80 one i need a rich beau :( that or a ching, who can intercept the production chain and maybe buy one for 80 RMB since they’re all made in china anyway.
i’m back from cambridge. bone-weary from doing laundry (washer takes 2 hrs, dryer takes 2 hrs! i mean, so you don’t have winter maintenance for your sidewalks but do you have to be -quite- so backward?? there’s a fine line between quaintness and complacency and 4 hr laundry borders on the ridiculous!). think i lost another glove in the cab back, but at least i didn’t get ripped off by the cab driver this time! must try to stop looking so tai tai but i can’t help it if i don’t like typical college gear.
didn’t have our mahjong night in the end, but we did hit -all- the bookstores (i’ve really got to stop buying books) (but oh man galloway & porters has classics for 2 quid apiece :O) and we had bridge night instead because clara’s boyfriend didn’t really know mahjong. (!!!) (i know, right?) i’d disapprove based on that alone but truth be told he’s a really nice chap who seems pretty bullyable/bullied :P. even if he is a prefect.
Happy Birthday Ching!
